Lebanese Sables

This is a traditional Lebanese cookie that you can enjoy with any jam you like!

Yields1 Serving
 1 lb Butter
 2 lbs Flour
 ½ cup Powdered sugar (confectioners sugar)
 Jam

1. Combine melted butter, flour and powdered sugar, and mix together by hand until you form a dough. if the dough is sticky, add a bit more flour.
2. Flour the rolling pin and your kitchen counter, and gently roll out the dough until it is about 0.15 inch thick (or slightly thinner if you prefer).
3. Cut out tops and bottoms using any cookie cutter shape you like.
4. Place them on a cookie tray in a preheated oven (about 400 F), and bake about 8 Minutes (cookies should have a very light brown color).
5. Remove from heat and wait until they cool. Add jam to a cookie and top it with another piece. You can sprinkle it with more powdered sugar if you like (but this is optional).
