This is a traditional Lebanese soup that is very easy and fast to make. You can adjust the cumin and salt to taste.

1. Combine lentils, onion, 1/2 tsp of cumin, 1/2 tsp of salt, and olive oil in a pot. Cover with water about 2 inches above the ingredients. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer and lentils are very tender, about 20 Minutes.
2. Puree the soup in a standing blender or with a stick blender until smooth. Return to heat, and add more salt and cumin to taste. Cook for an additional 5 Minutes while stirring.
Enjoy while hot!
