These were one of my favorites when I was growing up.

Tips Section

Alternatively, don't add the chocolate chips till after baking. Place chips on top of cake as it comes out of the oven and place in warm oven. The chocolate will melt and you can easily spread across top.

Ingredients

 2 ¾ cups Flour
 2 ½ tsp Baking powder
 ½ tsp Salt
 ¾ cup Butter
 1 lb Brown sugar
 3 Eggs
 1 tsp Vanilla
 1 cup Chopped nuts
 6 oz Semi sweet chocolate chips

Directions

Mix and sift flour, baking powder, and salt.

Melt butter.

Add brown sugar and stir until well blended

Cool slightly.

Add eggs, one at a time beating well after each addition.

Add vanilla.

Mix in dry ingredients; blend well.

Fold in nuts and chocolate chips.

Pour batter into greased jelly roll pan (10 x 15 x 3/4 inch).

Bake at 325 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
